Aston Martin, or rather its American branch, together with the famous Road magazine& Track decided to check on a racing highway a serial car without any improvements and preparations. For this, Aston Martin Rapide was chosen. Rapide is the most comfortable and spacious of the entire Aston Martin family. Instead of a comfortable and calm trip to the whole family, this car was to go through a truly extreme test. Test length 24 hours.
Aston Martin is a permanent participant in many hours of races and has won such endurance races more than once. But in races and various championships, cars prepared for this take part.
The test-tie was held on the Spring Motosports Ranch highway. This famous highway is located west of Las Vegas, or rather, 50 miles from the city. In this desert, the air temperature reaches, and sometimes exceeds 45 degrees above zero. In these conditions, special requirements of physical fitness are presented to pilots. The physical culture helped to achieve such preparedness to pilots, which they were engaged in preparing for the test. For 24 hours, Rapide overcame 2156 km, during which time six pairs of front and three pairs of rear wheels, two sets of rear pads were replaced. Throughout the test, all options worked in sports mode.
During the 24-hour race, Aston Martin Rapide has never broken and did not require technical interventions. The pilots were satisfied with comfort and coolness in the cabin, despite the extreme heat on the track. It is safe to say that this car has confirmed its reliability and the highest running qualities.
