For the first time, ATVs appeared in USA, in the seventies. But at that time they were three -wheeled and mainly intended for farmers. They were produced only by Suzuki only for the American market. However, farmers did not appreciate this work — ATVs significantly lost in functionality to ordinary tractors. Despite this — sales of a three -wheeled miracle still remained at a fairly good level due to extreme sports fans — ATVs conquered them with their power and dynamics.
This unexpected audience was how significant that Suzuki released several variations of ATVs, including a four -wheeled model. Sales brought the companies a lot of benefits and the goods took root. That’s the whole story of the creation of this type of transport.
Almost all ATVs have a deformed engine with high power. Such an engine is a guarantee that off -road will not be an obstacle to the way. For the most part, the frame is made of pipes of various diameters. Pipes are used both in expensive models and in cheaper ones — this provides rigidity and strength.
The transmission has a centrifugal variator, which itself selects the optimal gear ratio — it all depends on the engine speed. This is a big plus, because the driver gets rid of the need to switch the programs — it is difficult to do it off -road.
All ATVs are subject to significant loads, therefore, hydraulic and lever elements prevail in the design.
Since the ATV needs good cross -country ability — the wheels have low pressure tires and a small radius.
