The construction market has recently replenished with a completely new type of ceiling finish — tissue stretch structures — NATJAZHNIE_POTOLKI_DLJA_ZALA. Long before their appearance, the leading ceiling systems occupied the leading place, which have one significant aesthetic drawback — the presence of welding seams. Since a polyvinyl chloride film is produced only 1.5 meters wide, to obtain a canvas, the size of which should correspond to the dimensions of the room, it was required to weld several pieces of material with each other. Fabric canvases are much larger — their width can reach 5 meters, so the probability of the presence of seams in them is reduced almost to zero, moreover, they have several advantages over their film analogues.
Advantages of tissue stretch ceilings
So, the following advantages are characteristic of ceiling material structures from tissue material:
1) extremely high strength
Tissue tension material is about 20 times stronger than its film analogue. Therefore, any mechanical damage is absolutely not afraid of him, and his life is much more than that of his direct competitor;
2) attractive appearance
As mentioned above, in tissue stretch ceilings there are completely no seams;
3) ease and efficiency of installation
Before the installation of a fabric stretch structure, there is no need to carry household appliances, furniture, flower plants and many other objects from the premises, since it is not necessary to heat such material. Also, in the process of installation, construction waste is practically not formed;
4) high degree of frost resistance
Stretch ceilings from a fabric canvas are able to withstand frost up to -40 ° C, so they can be successfully used in unheated and various production facilities with a negative temperature;
5) good soundproofing properties
In addition to samples with conventional sound insulation, there are also structures with an increased degree of protection against external noise. They are indispensable for families who have young children, and lovers of loud music;
6) environmental cleanliness and safety
The tissue material of suspended ceilings has good breathability and fully meets all modern safety standards. Therefore, such structures can be used both in medical and children’s institutions;
7) simplicity in operation and practicality
The tissue stretch ceiling at any time can be repainted. In addition, there is no need to carefully and regularly care for it;
8) lack of sagging
Unlike the film canvas, the tissue material will never sag during operation.
Disadvantages of tissue tension structures
With all the variety of advantages, fabric tension systems also have a number of disadvantages:
1) lack of elasticity
In case of flooding by neighbors from above, such designs will not be able to save the dwelling from the flood — fabric material under huge water pressure will simply break out of their mounts. As a result, all the repair in the room will deteriorate, and above all, the finish. It will not work to insert the torn canvas back — you will have to completely change the entire stretch structure.
Even if the material withstands water pressure, a small amount of it still leaks. After the fabric dries, unsightly dirty stains will remain on it, which is very difficult and sometimes even impossible to wipe away. Therefore, with any “water attack” from above, you will have to completely change the entire stretch structure;
2) narrow assortment of textures
Today, only matte fabric for suspended ceilings are presented on the market. Therefore, in terms of design, they clearly lose their film “brothers”, which has a huge variety of colors and textures;
3) a seam with a separator
If the fabric stretch structure is required to be constructed in a room whose width exceeds the width of the canvas, that is, 5 meters, then it will not be possible to avoid the seam. And, most importantly, the parts of the material will have to be connected by means of a baguette rail (divider), which, of course, will immediately catch the eye when entering the room. Therefore, in such a situation, it is better to use the film system, since it has the seams, although they are almost invisible — their width is only 0.2 millimeters.
The conclusion is this: tissue stretch structures are ideal for country and country houses, that is, rooms in which large seasonal temperature changes are possible. As for city apartments, various public institutions and offices, it is better to install film ceiling systems in them.
