Components of the bathroom

In the continuation of the last record.

Today the market for plumbing devices is saturated to such an extent that it will not be difficult to find plumbing for any, even the most whimsical, taste.

A huge number of baths of various shapes and capacity; A huge amount of shower corners, booths, shower doors of various sizes and colors; a sea of shells from classical to the most bizarre; Endless slender rows of mixers of any shape and color ..

This list can be continued indefinitely.

Stylish shell

Bathroom shells.

In vain you think that the sink is very simple. It is interesting to observe buyers who go back and forth between the slender rows of dozens of shells and cannot choose in any way. I like it all, they say, and you need to choose only one. That’s what task!

In this case, I advise you to start with the appearance of the sink, t. e. from her geometry. We determine what we want: the sink of a rectangular (square) shape or streamlined (oval or round)?

Further is already easier. Decide on the size of your future sink. Naturally, if the area of the bathroom allows, it is better to put a larger sink, for example, 60 cm wide. Determined from the size.

The next step, we decide, we will put the sink on the pedestal (or on the leg, as they still say) or it will be a suspended version with a half -sales (with a semi -one). The option with the pedestal is the easiest and does not raise any additional questions. In this version, the sink is attached to the wall, a pedestal is set under it, which plays the role of a support for the sink. But if you stopped on a suspended version with a semi -department, then there may be pitfalls. In this case, both the sink and the semi -divided are attached only to the wall. In this case, you need to find out in advance from what material the wall is made on, on which you are going to hang the sink with semi. Whether it can withstand such a load? If builders make repairs in your bathroom, consult with them on this issue.

Acrylic bath

Baths.

It is even more complicated here. Seeing the richest assortment of baths of various shapes, sizes and configurations, the buyer simply falls into a dead end. Eyes scatter that I want — I don’t know!

In this case, the main “calm, only calm” as Carlson says. We begin to slowly determine what shape of the bath you want? Angular, rectangular or, perhaps, separate?

Corner baths, in turn, can be symmetrical (with equal sides) or asymmetric (one side is larger, the second is less). If you choose a corner bath, then it will be an acrylic bath (although at exhibitions I have met German steel baths).

If you like a classic rectangular style or give preference to a separate regional bath, then here you also have to choose the material from which the bath is made: cast iron, steel or acrylic, and the baths made of the so -called cast stone have appeared relatively recently. I’ll try to briefly characterize each material.

Cast iron bath — classics of the genre. High -quality cast -iron bath with a careful attitude will last you for more than a dozen years. In many houses, in the open spaces of the Great and Mighty USSR, there are cast-iron baths installed 30-40 years ago. The only thing you need to consider is a cast -iron bath in size 170×70 weighs about 100 kg. Do not go to buy it alone, too heavy.

This is one of the reasons why Cast iron baths are gradually replaced by much lighter steel and acrylic. Steel bath. There are two varieties of these baths. There are steel baths with a wall thickness of 2.3 mm, they are mainly produced in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovenia. And there are steel baths with a wall thickness of 3.5 mm, these baths are produced in Germany.

Baths with a smaller wall thickness due to a specific metallic sound are popularly called “tinning banks”. They are inexpensive, but require an additional sound — thermal insulation processing of the bottom and the lateral part. Without this processing, the bath is thunder very much and water cools very quickly in it.

Baths with a thick wall are practically deprived of this drawback, although I would still additionally make thermal insulation so that the water did not cool quickly. Baths with a wall thickness 3.5 mm. Capital product, I recommend. The manufacturer gives, if I am not mistaken, a 30-year-old guarantee for a corporate coating of several layers of high-strength enamel.

Acrylic baths. The miracle of modern technology. Initially, the material was used in aircraft construction. Until he has been found more massive use. Today, bathtubs from plumbing acrylic are sold in all stores and supermarkets. The material is very pleasant to the touch, warm when touching. Water in the acrylic bathtub cools only due to evaporation from the surface of the bath. Acrylic bath walls are a good heat insulator. The inner cup of the bath is so flat and smooth that the dirt on the bath does not linger. Due to the absence of microscopic pores on the surface, it is washed very easily with ordinary warm soap water. Just do not confuse the baths made in Europe from plumbing acrylic with Chinese plastic baths, which have nothing to do with quality acrylic.

Well, cast stone. This is a relatively new material in bath construction. Cast stone baths firmly occupied a leading place in an elite segment. Cast stone baths differ, first of all, a very beautiful, elegant appearance. A large number of color shades, in addition, there are surfaces resembling, for example, malachite, etc. D.

Briefly for today everything. Well, according to tradition — a good choice for you.
