The fact that one of the best (and also relatively cheap, with the same CASCO cannot be compared) ways to protect yourself on the road is the DVR is already clear for a long time. More precisely, I will say this — it is clear in the conditions of Russian realities, when something completely unlimited on the roads sometimes happens on the roads. So when Saber SX Double Eye was in my hands, I decided to see what this gadget is capable of and make his short review.
The second camera aroused interest in the device, but about it a little later. So, the hero of the review is made in China. Someone can immediately twist the face: “A, another craft from the guanzhou factories,” but firstly, craftsmen from the PRC in recent years have significantly raised the quality of their products and, secondly, the vast majority of automobile cameras were made precisely in the Celestial Empire. Of course, products for $ 30-40 (and there are such) do not withstand critics and are generally a worthy example that illustrates the saying “We are not so rich as to buy cheap things”. But Saber SX Double Eye is quite worthy of attention, as the device fully meets the requirements for the modern DVR and at the same time having a sane price.
But let’s start with the configuration: in addition to the video recorder itself in the box, there are a main mount, a separate remote camera with vacuum fastening, charging in a cigarette lighter, miniusb cable, RCA cable, wire for connecting a remote camera. Without frills, but the most necessary is. Of course, attention is attracted by the presence of an additional camera. I must say right away that its resolution is less than that of the main one and it is auxiliary in nature. So, if the DVR itself shoots videos in HD 1280 × 720 pixels, then additional — 720×480 pixels. Why can it be needed?
In general, some suggest using the second camera as a secretive device or an addition to the frontal. But it still seemed to me that the creators of Saber SX Double Eye were primarily thinking about installing additional observation through the rear window. At the same time, shooting is automatically made from two cameras at once, which allows you to have a normal record even when you got into the ass (well, God forbid, of course). The quality of the picture, by the way, is very worthy. Well, for the central registrar it is even slightly higher than the devices of this price segment I know. True, at dusk and dark time, visibility becomes worse, but this is a scourge of almost all DVRs. By the way, there are a cyclic recording and lack of passes during reproduction.
The materials of the case and the build quality of the Saber SX Double Eye are not that they deserve separate praise, but they do not cause complaints. Everything is soundly, neat, without unnecessary gaps and backlash. Appearance is more likely standard. However, for a DVR, design is less important than the quality of the picture and additional functions.
About the disadvantages: probably not very pleased the battery, although most drivers have registrars from a cigarette lighter. Well, someone can say that the screen of 3.5 inches gives a rather faded picture. Perhaps this has its own fraction of the truth, but it does not seem so important to me, since you can always display a record on a large screen (the benefit of the resolution of the Saber SX Double Eye camera allows you to certainly consider all the details of what happened on the road.
Oh yes! This thing is priceless in one case: to shoot a meteorite without a DVR is almost unrealistic! And if it flew from behind, to the additional Saber SX Double Eye camera is a real gift of fate.
