What materials will be needed for work? Firstly, drywall. As you know, it can be several types:
Simple (GCL);
moisture -resistant (GKLV);
Fireplite (GLCl).
In rooms where air humidity for most of the time does not exceed 60%, the walls can be made of ordinary sheets; if the humidity is higher, it is better to use moisture resistant. It is not necessary to make walls of refractory sheets in residential buildings and apartments, since any drywall is, by and large, non -combustible material. The thickness of sheets is usually 12.5 mm — the exception is only those cases when the construction of semicircular walls is planned. For them you need to take 9.5 mm GKL sheets, since they are much easier to bend under any radius.
In this article, we will not dwell on the adhesive method of installation of drywall, as well as on the installation of sheets on a wooden-raising frame, but let’s talk about how to create a design based on which a metal profile. Therefore, you will also need guides with a section of 27×28 mm (UD profile), 60×27 mm (CD profile), straight suspensions and, possibly, “crabs”. In addition, you need to «arm yourself» with a screwdriver, a perforator, level (simple and laser), metal scissors, dowel-clamps, self-tapping screws and a plumb line. In addition, you need to stock up on gloves and a respirator — they will come in handy during cutting drywall.

To make the design as flat and reliable as possible, first you need to mark on the ceiling and walls the place of fastening of profiles and suspensions. First you need to decide on the installation site of the UD-controls. To do this, retreating from the corner a distance of about 5-7 centimeters, a “reference point” is placed on the ceiling. Further, with the help of a laser level, a line is projected through this point to the opposite end of the ceiling, which is drawn by a marker or pencil. After that, several points on the resulting marking using a plumb line are transferred to the floor and connected. The same procedure is done for all the remaining walls.
Then, with the help of all the same plumb line on the walls, vertical lines are indicated, which will determine the places of fastening of the suspensions. The step between the lines, as well as between suspensions, should be no more than 60 cm. These «assistants» are attached on the wall one under another. To increase the hardness of the structure, suspensions on neighboring lines need to be attached with a slight displacement from the horizontal axis. Now you can mount the UD profiles-they are usually mounted on a dowel-gvo, which are installed in a hole made by a perforator. The suspensions are also attached in the same way.
Before laying drywall on the walls, it is necessary to mount vertical guides from CD profile. They are fixed to suspensions and profiles of 27×28 mm using self -tapping screws. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the racks are strictly vertical and are on the same level relative to each other. The correct installation is regulated using the usual level.
If a fairly large load is planned on the wall in the future, then it makes sense to give the design additional stiffness. For this, segments are cut from the same CD-profile, the length of which is slightly less than the distance between the profiles. Then, “crabs” are put on the racks from the side of the wall (when fixed, they should be filled), into which the profile segments are inserted. The resulting «knot» is fixed with self -tapping screws.
How to install drywall on the wall — mount the sheets
Now you can proceed to the story of how to install drywall. If the height of the walls is larger than the drywall sheet, then first you need to cut the “additional” pieces of the desired size. When attaching whole and cut sheets, you need to follow the chess order — that is, the first segment is attached at the ceiling, and the second by the floor. Fixed drywall with metal self -tapping screws. Self -tapping heads are recessed into sheets by no more than five millimeters. The fasteners need to be selected in such a way that their length exceeds the total thickness of the drywall and profile, that is, there was at least 50 millimeters.
Drywall sheets are necessarily attached to all mounted profiles.
The distance between the meters should be no more than 15 cm. In addition, they should be attached at a distance of one centimeter from the “native” edge of the drywall and one and a half — from the cut. The resulting design should be stiff — it is impossible to allow sagging sheets in any case. After all the preparatory work has been completed, you can start putty drywall.
